Mr. Dean is a Managing Partner of Startup Capital Ventures. Previously, John was Chairman and CEO of Silicon Valley Bank, a leading banking institution that provides banking services to early-stage companies primarily in technology and life sciences. Mr. Dean was also former Chairman and CEO of Central Pacific Bank, where he led the bank’s recapitalization and returned it to profitability. He continues to serve on the Board of Directors of Central Pacific Bank today.

Mr. Dean is an advisor or director of various technology companies in the funds that he is involved in.

Mr. Dean has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and French from the Holy Cross College and a Master of Business Administration major in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Banatao is the Managing Partner of Tallwood Venture Capital and was formerly a venture partner at Mayfield Fund. Mr. Banatao pioneered the PC chip-set and graphics acceleration architecture that continue to be found in every computer today, through the various technology companies he co-founded and exited, such as Chips & Technologies, Mostron and S3. He was also the former Chairman of Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:MRVL) and SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. (listed at NASDAQ as SIRF and subsequently acquired by CSR plc). Mr. Banatao is also the founder and Chairman of the Philippine Development Foundation (Phildev), a nonprofit organization working to create an ecosystem of science and technology in the Philippines for long-term economic growth and development.

Mr. Banatao holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, cum laude, from the Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines and a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University. He is an inductee of the Stanford University Asian Hall of Fame for the development of advanced chip designs.

Kitao-san is the Chief Executive Officer and Representative Director of SBI Holdings, and is one of the most successful entrepreneurs and venture capitalists in Asia. He was the former Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of SoftBank Group Corp. before SBI Holdings spun-off from SoftBank. Prior to joining SoftBank as its CFO, Kitao-san was a career investment banker. He was the General Manager in the Corporate Finance & Services Department III, of Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. In Tokyo, and a Managing Director and Board Member at Wasserstein Perella & Co.

Kitao-San holds an M.A. in Economics from Cambridge University, M.A and a B.A. in Economics from Keio University (Japan).
