Investment Philosophy IVP believes in a two-pronged approach to investing selectively in qualified companies. For Asian-based investment opportunities, IVP will be the lead, or the sole VC investor, in most cases. Typical investment opportunities exploit demographic trends or are focused on attracting outsourcing business from non-Philippine based companies, e.g. call centers, information technology, and business process outsourcing. For non-Asian opportunities with Philippine applications, IVP will seek out U.S. co-investment opportunities, (i.e. Silicon Valley) where it is possible to invest in companies looking to leverage on the Philippines' capabilities as a cost effective, high volume center for manufacturing and outsourced services. IVP will invest alongside other venture investors in US opportunities, with whom it has developed successful business relationships in the past. In each approach, the IVP has demonstrated its ability to access its regional -primarily Philippine- network of leading suppliers, customer prospects, and potential distribution partners for a number of its investee companies. These relationships range from original equipment manufacturing, contract manufacturing agreements, joint technology development agreements (such as with Ionics, Inc., the Philippines largest electronics manufacturing company) and key customer introductions. Thus, IVP is predisposed to building synergistic partnerships with management teams of potential investee companies constituted by individuals with demonstrated capabilities to envision, build, and sustain businesses, based on realistic and sound expectations. When necessary, in addition to providing capital, IVP is willing to be more involved with its investee partners, in such areas as providing financial advisory services, actively participating in its investee firm's policy-making bodies, and arranging for funding in the capital markets, either via debt or equity instruments. Moreover, IVP is poised to draw upon the vast and varied resources, expertise, and experience of the ICCP Group in assisting its investee partners to implement their growth strategies and to realize their overall growth potential. This support is typically provided at the level of policy- or strategy-setting bodies, such as the Board of Directors or Executive Committees, where IVP provides business linkages and guidance in critical areas, including business planning and strategy. IVP relies on the patience demanded of an astute, long-term investor. While evolving market conditions make it challenging to predict an exit event, such as a private sale or an initial public offering, IVP continues to collaborate with the management of its investee partners to grow the business internally and realize its latent, intrinsic value. IVP is firmly committed to conduct business with a high degree of integrity, transparency, professionalism, and excellence.
